Debbie and I had prayer together a little after
6 AM. I showered and shaved; all of us had packed most of our
things last night and did not take long to finish packing this morning.
We put all our luggage (13 pieces) in the foyer and went to breakfast in the
top deck, 17th level. It was very nice and the waiters made it special
serving the children with patience. Marla met us in the lobby at 9:00
AM and she took us through the crowds to the luggage area where another
employee of Royal Caribbean met us with all our luggage. We went through immigration with the new facial
recognition scanning and did not have to show our passports. Ed, our shuttle driver, with Select Transfers Florida was
waiting on us with our name on his sign. This is
probably the best shuttle service anywhere we have used traveling. The dispatcher called me when we were at the
dock to make sure we and Ed, our driver had made connections. We had to stop on the side of the road for Ethan
to go relieve himself. He took us to the
Bumby Ward and attended Sacrament and Priesthood with the young men that I went
to with eh boys. Debbie, Alex and Gracey
went to Relief Society. While we were
waiting for the Sacrament to begin, Luke set off the fire alarm on the inside
of the building. Tucker and he were
playing; Luke froze when the fire alarm went off and Tucker ran. I spoke with Bishop Purcell from the boat
yesterday. He welcomed us and I was
invited to stand in the circle of a couple of young men being ordained Teachers
today in the Aaronic Priesthood. Ed
attended Sacrament and Priesthood meeting with us. After church we changed into our traveling
clothes in the church restroom. It was
only a 12 to 14 minute drive to the airport in Orlando from the Bumby Ward. Edd dropped up off at the terminal and we had
everyone together and the children were wound up. The Delta employee in charge of directing the
people flying on Delta at the check in counter was stress with our group of
children. Luke took the rope down that
handles the flow of people and could not get it back up and connected. He
told Debbie to take the children and go to Priority Ticketing. She told him our group was not priority. He told her it does not matter just go. The ticketing agent wanted to charge us $30
for 6 bags but when I showed her my Delta American Express Card she continued
without any charge. Because of the
TSA-Global Entry cards Debbie and I have we did not have to wait in the regular
lines going through security. It took
Alex, Gavin and Blake much longer to go through security. We stopped at gate 71 where the movie Incredibles was playing. Our gate 77 is further down
the terminal. We have about 5 hours or
longer to wait before we start boarding the plane for LAX and I had some time to read and study Hebrew. We traveled about 5 hours to Las Angles International Airport. Michael arrived from Boston just before we arrived and met us at our gate when we got off the plane. We all got our luggage at baggage claim. Michael, Alex, Gavin, Blake and Gracey helped us get on the Hertz Car Rental Shuttle before catching their shuttle to the airport parking lot to get Alex car Michael parked before catching a plane to attend his college class back east. We ate breakfast on the ship and I have not purchased any food today. We got an SUV from Hertz and drove out of LA to the intersection of I-5 and Hwy 99 at Bakersfield. I filled the SUV with gas and fed everyone at In and Out Burger that was still open at 1 AM. After we ate I drove to Rae Lynn and Brett's in Clovis. We got there about 3:30 AM. The children and Debbie slept most of the way. We unpacked the SUV and the children were asleep by the time I got in the house. Brett left the front door unlocked for us. Debbie and I had prayer and got to bed a little before 4 AM.
