Prioritized Daily Task

12:30 PM -  Debbie and I had sacrament and testimony meeting at our home in Lehi, UT.  We finished listening to Gordon T. Allred book, "Beyond the Spirit World, Reality of the Resurrection" and shared our testimony with each other.  Gordon T. Allred was worn in 1930 in American Fork and died 2011.  He was a professor of English at Weber State University for 48 years.  His daughter, Shannon Cox said,  "aside from a few indulgences like potato chips and root beer, her dad took immaculate care of his body. She said that it was tied to his “deeply spiritual side” and his belief that a person should always be progressing.  Cox took English classes from her father and said she witnessed firsthand the devoted and intimate teaching style students came to love. “He would weave life lessons into everything he taught. He always encouraged us to find a passion, find our life’s work and not just a job".

“He was constantly thinking about getting better, memorizing poetry, learning new languages. He was devoted to always improving himself. I think he did that until the day he died.”  In 2011, during his final year at WSU, Allred was awarded with the Alumni Association’s H. Aldous Dixon Award that, according to the award citation, is given to professors that “have demonstrated careers of excellence and have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support students.”

One of the insights I got from Brother Allred's audio book was that if we procrastinate the day of our repentance to death we loose much of the power we have to break habits and addictions that Satan uses to bind us with.  

I face-timed and talked to all of the children and grand children yesterday and today.

At 6:00 PM I attended my Hebrew class.  The mid-term test is postponed to the week after next because we did not finish lesson 15 this evening.  

7:15 pm Debbie had dinner ready, we had prayer and we broke our fast.
