Debbie was up and going early, 6 AM.  I slept until a little after 7 AM.  I had my personal prayer.  Debbie drove over and picked Clara, grand daughter up, and Jared's pickup truck up with gas.

I talked to Andy Morris, who leases and manages our nursing homes in Georgia.  Janie and Nancy are holding out for more money than Andy is willing to pay because if he paid their asking price he would not be able to rebuild the facilities, which has to be done if the building are to continue to operate, specifically Friendship in Cleveland, White County.  The new home that has been built to replace the 116 bed facility on Cason Road in Cedartown has had way more challenges and opportunities than is normal.  These challenges began over 10 years ago and even though the building is completed the fire marshal has not OKed it to house nursing home patients.  It may be August before patients can be moved from Cedartown facility to the new facility in Rockmart.   Andy said the lease he has on Friendship is up at the end of October this year and Nancy and Janie will have to make some decisions  then.

I received an email from Sister Alexandra McAlpin today. I copied part of it below:

It is interesting to study scripture more often than ever before at this time in the world. I've focused this week on how Jesus Christ, resurrected, came and ministered to thousands, if not millions of people. We may not understand the scope of those who he touched. But we get an idea of it from scripture. In 3 Nephi, it was said that people were filled with the "love of God" and that there was no longer any "-ites" (a suffix used to denote different bodies of people) after they listened intently to Jesus Christ and let Him fill their hearts. The majority of people in Jerusalem had less lasting effects due to Christ's ministry, because of their lesser faith at the time. History from both scripture and movements such as Martin Luther King Jr.'s suggests a lesson we can all learn, that we must look forward with faith, hope, and pure love towards others. Then we can have less division amongst ourselves. We only will be united by this "love of God" that embodies kindness, empathy, compassion, humility, patience, and all that is good. When we try our best to harness this love, we bring light that drives out darkness, and love that drives out hate.

We really enjoyed your email this week.  The Lord has inspired His children from the beginning of time and before.

I thought you might enjoy some insight on Jewish traditions and our faith.  This comes from our tour guide we had in the Holy Land, Daniel Rona. 

What symbolism is the white sheet?
There is a certain symbolism to covering the dead with a white sheet. The emblems of the
sacrament are covered with a white sheet in remembrance of His death and resurrection.
The pouring out of water can also be seen as symbolic of "living water" being removed. It
should be noted that mourning is suspended on the Sabbath. To continue the symbolism, it
seems that mourning is suspended on Sabbath because that is the Lord’s day.

I met Rae Lynn's friend, Kerry Asay, at McDonalds in Midvale just off I-15 on the east side.  She had kept Etahan and Luke over night and today to play with her boys, Colton and  Crew, who have been friends since they all lived in AZ.  Kerry's husband name is Kevin.  I brought Ethan and Luke back to Rae Lynn's who was at a friends home in Pleasant Grove.   

Beth took Andrew and drove to Kent and Cid Davis's and picked Tucker and Maggie up.  She dropped Tucker off at the Hyatt Hotel in Pleasant Grove and brought Maggie, Andrew, Owen and Brody back to the house with her.  Everyone had dinner, played outside and later we had family prayer and the children watched a movie on the big screen TV down stairs.  

I talked to Debbie tonight in Shelly at Karlene and Joe L's.  She was back from the condo at Macks Inn.  She left the table she bought from Pat and Anndalyn and brought the old one back.   Debbie and I had prayer together on the phone, afterwards I turned the TV off down stairs and Beth turned the lights out.
